Christmas Tree. There is nothing more disheartening than coming home with your real or artificial Christmas tree only to find that it is too large for the spot that you had envisioned it in…or to discover that you could have gone with the fuller, larger model. Before you go shopping, you need to make sure that you are taking into consideration the size of the room and just what size of the tree is going to fit into this area. We have a few tips that will ensure that the tree you get is going to be ideal for the size of the room that you are putting it into!
Height Considerations to Make
The professionals in the field recommend that you get a Christmas tree that leaves at least 6 inches from the top of the tree to the ceiling. However, many people find that leaving a full 12 inches from the top of the tree to the ceiling is an even better estimate. This way, you are not going to have an issue with any topper that you are using on the tree!
For example, most people have 8-foot ceilings, so they can get away with a 7 ½ foot tree or even a 7-foot tree to give them more lead way if they have a rather large topper. For those with taller ceilings, of course, they can go with an even taller tree.
Circumference of Trees
Each tree is going to have a different circumference, depending upon the shape of the tree. You will find that various trees will have a slightly different shape. When you are measuring around the tree, you will want to do this at the fullest portion of the tree. And remember that you want to keep around 3 inches of space between the tree and the walls or furniture that is nearby. You don’t want this tree shoved into the wall, as it could mess up branches and even make the tree slightly lean.
Remember, there are those trees that are considered skinny trees, which are perfect for those who have smaller rooms for putting these into. They are still gorgeous once decorated, but they are designed for smaller spaces!
Other Thoughts to Consider
There are several other thoughts to consider when choosing the perfect tree for your home. For example:
- Do you want an artificial tree or a real tree? Both are going to require different types of care!
- Do you want a tree that is blown with artificial snow to make more of a winter wonderland scene?
- Do you have a preference for what type of tree you want? Each type out there is going to be slightly different in color and even in how the branches look.
For those who are ready to buy their tree, make sure that you take your time and choose the one that best fits your home. You will find that by taking a bit more time, you will find a tree that you will love decorating and will be a delight to have in your home.
